were a mix of warmth and chill, occasionally accompanied by drizzle.
That night, I fell asleep after narrating my horrible experiences and boredom in a
school where they did not speak my mother tongue, to my Uppa and Umma.
"Uppaaa!!" I woke up suddenly.
My parents were just falling into deep sleep when they were woken up by my scream.
My brother was still asleep, sound and undisturbed.
They looked at me, with questions on their faces.
"I forgot something, Uppa."
"What is it, Ibu?"
"I need a storybook."
"What storybook?"
"It's called ‘Do Zilla Go.'"
"Yeah, she's been asking for this storybook for days now," Umma answered to the
confused look on Uppa's face.
"Aah Uppa, and my mam made me stand outside the class for not bringing the book
and said something I didn't understand."
"But dear, what does ‘Do Zilla Go' mean?"
"I don't know all that. The teacher keeps telling that looking into that book."
"Alright, we'll go tomorrow to buy your book, what say?"
"Ok."
The hunt for the book was indeed a real adventure. No bookstore had a book called
‘Do Zilla Go,' and my parents started exchanging suspicious glances. But I wouldn't
move. That was what the book was called. I was a hundred percent sure.
We got tired, yet we kept looking. That's when a shopkeeper asked us a few questions
about the book.
"Which class is the book you are looking for?"
"UKG."
"Just see if this is what you want."
He handed us a book, and I bounced in joy.
It was the first-term book for UKG students, and that was exactly what we were
looking for.
I couldn't control my happiness.
Then, all of a sudden, my Umma asked me, "Where is your ‘Do Zilla Go'?"
In the ecstatic state I was, overwhelmed with having found my book, I turned to the
last pages and showed her the story with utmost pride on my face. Umma looked at
Uppa, and with shocked faces, they read aloud, "Two Silly Goats."
