'What is your biggest fear?' one of my teachers asked me.
'Losing people, sir.' I answered.
'Okk, so you are afraid of death!' he summed up my answer.
'No, not only death sir. I fear losing people in all possible ways. You could lose a
person because one of you stopped being in touch. It could be due to a
misunderstanding. You could lose a friend because you found home in a new place.
Some bonds may break because it did not come to be of help in times of need. Ego
and pride could play a huge role in taking away your loved ones. Some relationships
just come to an end abruptly, some leave with no reason and some because there were
no second chances. There are a lot of people that escape your hold because life
happens to all of them. Sometimes, you yourself get rid of people, because life
happens to you too and only regret it later in life. And there are some you lose
because you have been a pain to them and they are far far away before you could even
seek forgiveness.
Sir, There are a lot of ways you could lose someone and
death is the least scary way of all.' I inhaled.
'Have you lost someone in those ways?' he asked softly
'Many.' I smiled.
